Corporate gifts with ham: how to get it right with clients and employees

A corporate gift has a rule that a personal gift does not: it gets compared. The client receives five hampers in December and remembers one. The employee knows what they were given last year. That is why a corporate gift set comes down to three decisions that are best settled in October, while there is still room for manoeuvre: how much per person, which format and how to personalise it.

How much per person: one good product, not a full box

The classic mistake is to fill the box. On a tight per-person budget, a single genuine Iberico product (two packs of acorn-fed (de bellota) ham, an Iberico acorn-fed chorizo vela, a pack of beef cecina) says more than a box of things nobody would choose. A mid-range budget stretches to a whole piece: an Iberico cured loin (lomo), a piece of cecina, a whole Serrano shoulder. And for important clients, an Iberico shoulder or a boneless grain-fed (de cebo) ham, which arrives ready to open and carve. The guide by price band will help you place each level.

Which format travels well to many addresses

When the gift is going to thirty different addresses, the format is what counts. Boneless and vacuum-packed sliced products travel without any trouble and ask nothing of the recipient: no ham stand, no technique, no space. A whole piece is a magnificent gift for a few recipients you know will enjoy it; for a long list, it is a gamble. And remember that shipping wine may be restricted to certain destinations: if a client's destination doesn't allow it, their gift set goes without a bottle.

Personalising: the logo, the message, the card

We prepare corporate gift sets to order: with your logo, with your message and with a card for each recipient if you send us the list. It is not an automatic configurator; it is a conversation. You tell us your budget, the number of gift sets, whether they all go to one address or each to its own, and when you need them by, and we suggest two or three options. The earlier in the autumn, the more room to fine-tune.

Invoices and EU businesses

When ordering, you can indicate that you need an invoice with a tax ID (NIF), and you will receive it in the company's name. In a business purchase, VAT is determined by law by the destination of the goods, not by the buyer's country: anything delivered in Spain is subject to VAT. If your company is based in another European Union country, has an intra-Community VAT number and the delivery is going to that same country, mark it as a business purchase: we validate the number and the sale is VAT-exempt. For large orders with several addresses, it is better to get in touch in writing: they are prepared as a bespoke order and the invoice is issued in the same way.

  • Decide in October; December shipping is unforgiving.
  • One good product per person rather than a full box.
  • For many addresses: boneless or vacuum-packed sliced.
  • Bespoke personalisation: logo, message and a card for each recipient.
  • Invoice with tax ID (NIF) from the order; VAT-free only for businesses in another EU country when delivery is to that country.

Tell us about your campaign and we will suggest the gift sets
